The network of libraries in South Dublin are integral to the success and development of the Red Line Book Festival and to their repsective communities. They are constantly coming up with new ways to integrate with their local communities and schools in order to support and promote the importancce of reading and education among the young and old. Ballyroan Library is a state of the art and newly opened library which includes a lecture hall, an exhibition space, a digital training suite as well as a dedicated research room. There are constantly events taking place from training to book readings and children's events to Craft Fairs. There is on-street parking around the library and it can also be reached via the 15b bus.

Clondalkin Library is located just outside the main village of Clondalkin in a beautiful red brick building with parking in the local areas and access via the 13, 68, and 76 buses. As with all of the libraries in South Dublin this library is a busy hub of activity with regular classes and events, as well as a steady flow of locals coming to use the services.

Tallaght Library is the main county library for the South Dublin area and as such would be a very busy and popular resource for the people of the community. It is a modern and visually impressive building that has all the facilities necessary, with meeting rooms, study areas, free Wifi and public use PC's. Throughout the year, there are a wide array of events catering to all ages groups and interests. There are a number of public transport options for reaching the Tallaght Library such as the Luas Red Line and the following bus routes: 27, 49, 54a, 65b, 75, 76, and 76a.

Lucan Library is located on the grounds of the busy Lucan Shopping Centre and therefore is a very visible and widely used amenity within the community. They have a wide catchement area and are constantly busy organising events from Children's Story Telling to Fundraising Cake Sales. It can be accessed via the 25a bus routes or there is amply parking at the shopping centre.

The John Jennings Library is situated in the grounds of Stewarts Care Ltd, Palmerston. It is a small library that houses a specialised collection of books and journals on learning and intellectual difficulties. A wider public service is also offered to the community that includes free Internet access and WiFi. It can be reached via the No. 18 bus.
