There is literally always something to do in Dublin if you are willing to think out side of the box! Here is just a sample of some of the events that are coming up in South Dublin aside from the Red Line Book Festival.

The Civic Theatre is South Dublin's leading venue for theatre, music, dance, opera, comedy, school and local events. Throughout the year they have a busy and varied selection of events for people to choose from.

RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre is a unique and inspiring arts centre based in the heart of Tallaght, catering for the artistic needs of all South Dublin. It’s one of the largest multi-disciplinary arts venues in Ireland and provides the opportunity for people of all backgrounds and ages to witness and partake in Theatre, Dance, Music, Literature, Film-Making, e-learning, Visual Art and all that the arts have to offer.

Ballyroan Library in Rathfarnham will host an Irish Folklore Storytelling session for all the family with Roisin Murphy at 6.15pm. Booking is essential for this event. It will be followed at 7.30pm by a limited

edition screening of Fortune’s Wheel, the story of a Fairview lion-tamer in the 1950’s. Film-maker John Lee will be at the screening and will be available for a Q&A after the film.

In 1959 Canoeing Ireland started a marathon canoe race on the river Liffey that was destined to become one of the world's most famous and exciting canoeing events. Over the years its reputation has grown and attracted paddlers from all over the world to experience both the event itself and the unique atmosphere of fun and friendship that surrounds it.

Children's Book Festival - October

The specific details of this event are yet to be confirmed but we can guarantee that it will be a week of fun, laughter and learning for kids of all ages!
